Terms of Use

Last updated 7 October 2026

These terms apply to your use of BPTMate (the "Service"), provided by Tandem Labs (ABN 15 362 261 015) ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What BPTMate is

BPTMate is an educational study resource for physician trainees preparing for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) Basic Training written examination. It is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the RACP. It was called BPTBuddy until October 2026; the service, your account and your subscription are unchanged.

2. Study aid only - not medical advice

BPTMate is a study aid only. Its content is written with the help of AI and must not be used to guide clinical decision making.

We do not guarantee any examination result.

3. Your account

  • You sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • Your subscription is for you alone. Do not share your account or access with others.
  • Tell us promptly at hello@bptmate.com.au if you believe your account has been misused.

4. Subscriptions and payment

  • Plans are $30 per month or $320 per year, in Australian dollars, unless shown otherwise at checkout.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
  • You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
  • Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not refund partial periods.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. A new price applies from your next billing period, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

Free trials. We may offer a free trial through a trial code.

  • A trial gives full access for the period shown when you start it (currently 14 days). A card is required, but nothing is charged during the trial.
  • Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your chosen plan starts automatically at the end of the trial and your card is charged the plan price. We email you a reminder before the trial ends.
  • You can cancel a trial at any time from your account, and you keep access until the trial ends.
  • One free trial per person. We may decline or end a trial that is misused, for example by using multiple email addresses.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded, including your right to a remedy if the Service is not provided with due care and skill.

5. Referral codes

  • Members can share a personal referral code. It gives a new customer $10 off the first year of the yearly plan. It does not apply to the monthly plan, and cannot be combined with other codes.
  • You cannot use your own code. We may cancel a code that is misused, such as through spam or misleading claims about BPTMate.
  • Please only share your code with people who would want to hear about BPTMate. You are responsible for the messages you send.
  • We may change or end the program at any time; a discount already applied to a purchase is not affected.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • copy, download in bulk, scrape, republish, sell or redistribute the content;
  • use automated tools to access the Service, or attempt to bypass access controls;
  • reverse engineer, interfere with or disrupt the Service; or
  • use the Service in breach of any law.

7. Content and intellectual property

The Service and its content - including notes, exam facts, flashcards and summaries - are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright. Your subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own study. References to guidelines, journals and third-party tools are for identification; those works belong to their owners.

Your own highlights, comments and notes remain yours. You allow us to store and process them only to provide the Service to you.

8. Third-party links

The Service links to external sites and tools (such as Therapeutic Guidelines, AMH and journal articles). We are not responsible for their content, availability or terms.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available and up to date but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may update, add or remove content and features.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from reliance on the content for clinical decisions. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to supplying the Service again or refunding the fees you paid for the period in which the issue occurred.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
